We are EXPANDING!

More space in the office come September! We reeeaaaaaaaalllly need the space. Right now, you can’t get to the workstation without tripping over wires, equipment and the occasional thrash bag.

P.S. Look at Yan Zhao surveying the workmanship from behind the iMac. No prize for guessing who is taking a break from his usual marketing role to try out editing.

P.P.S Check out the make-shift curtain too! Black cloth and gaffer tape solve everything.

A pre-wedding documentary for Fong and Rachel!

Their love story was shot over the period of a week. Fong is a close friend of Kang Li, who insisted that their story is worth documenting. At the end of the day, while photography and film make great communication tools, they are still no match for true love.

Rigging into top gear

Physics, common sense and “trial and error” came together in this promotional video shoot for the Youth Olympic Games. The mission was simple – keep the camera stable, both inside the car, and outside it. And that’s why the suction cups and car rigs came into play.

We have visitors!

What do you do when you see construction workers hanging out (literally) outside your window?

GIVE ‘EM SOME ICE COLD WATER!

These gentlemen have been tasked with constructing the neighbouring wing of our shophouse studio, working in sweltering heat/thunderstorms (Singapore’s weather these days are extreme) while listening to old Mandarin songs blasted so loud it proliferates through our walls. Hopefully, they will be done soon because the drilling has been affecting our sanity and sometimes work (editing editing and more editing). More importantly,  the additional space after the construction is completed will be much appreciated in this war zone of an equipment-infested studio! We really need another big table in the house.

Beginning of an end

Back to Singapore, back to Little Red Ants.. But before I leave things behind, here’s a multimedia on my home and friends in Poland for the past six weeks.

Dzień Dobry from Poland!

So here I am, on a 6 week volunteer stint in Więckowice, a small village in the suburban area of Kraków. For the past few weeks, I’ve been working with an NGO called Fundacja Wspólnota Nadziei that provides assistance to adults with autism. The centre operates a farm for the autistic participants to work on, and this is the first of its kind in Poland.

(Un)fortunately, my stay here coincided with the death of Polish President Lech Kaczyński as well as many other important officials. Last Sunday, I attended his funeral at Kraków, and put together a short piece of street scenes leading up to the event.

The accompanying song was recorded live at the market square where the crowd was gathered to watch the funeral. The actual event took place at the Wawal Castle, which was out of bounds for the public. This is a catholic hymm about resurrection, and it is usually sung during Easter.

More about work and life on the farm coming up soon..

Life, as it flashes past you in the last 3 minutes.
